T-minus two days...

In exactly two days we will be starting a procedure that will bring our son in the world. I had a guy come buy the cube today and ask if I was excited. It is a silly question, but it made me think. Am I excited?

Yes. Am I trying to work around an irrational fear about providing for another child? Yes. Of course we can provide but I am always overcome by a huge feeling of making sure the kids are well provided for, emotional, physically, and financially. The last one being the least of my concerns. Not that my cube runneth over but because that will always just happen.

I worry. Probably too much, but for me it works.

The cube farm has been interesting. There is a large project that is coming and the team is freaking out. I mean freaking out. Annoying dude, may cry, and I am not talking a single Cherokee tear over litter cry, I am talking 3rd grade you stole my kickball cry.

So, I took it upon myself to be the cube oracle to enlighten the group. In short, the oracle informed them to quit whining they are getting everything they have been asking for since I got here almost 3 years ago. Now you got everything you wanted and that isnt good enough? It sounds like my high school girlfriend. Suck it up Nancy, rub some dirt on it and get back to work.

IJS...

I apologize to any Nancy's this may have offended.

I heart you...

Breathing

The "Project" is close. So very, very close. Testing today. Validation tomorrow. New config Friday. Then we load data again. I think this is load at least 4. It it time consuming process that is kinda boring but necessary. I am nervous about validation tomorrow but at this point the nervousness is tempered by apathy. I am not sure if that is possible, but I am going with it.

My side project is going well. Everything looks like the 19th. Really excited about that. It is the important one. Really no dev systems or do overs. I am really for the week. Ready for a new stress, a new reason for a lack of sleep, and another reason to be proud.

I will leave you with two quotes that I will share. Both are important for different reasons.

1. "They have powers far beyond mortal idiots."
2. "My love still exceeds my pride." Trammell Crow to his daughter.

Uncle.

I am done. The project seems to have pieces shooting in all directions. It seems 4 calls about what is wrong a day would be enough but alas we need more.

I have a hard stop in a couple of weeks, and the way the project is going I am wondering if its just going to be a 7 day breather then back to the madness. They are a good group of people most are qualified some are nutty, (I probably could be included in the latter) but it will work. It always does and it probably has too.

I have laughed more in the last 3 days than I have in the previous week. It has been a tough Jan but Feb is turning it around.

13 days...
